2010 MSTA Fall Board Meeting
Please join us on Saturday October 2, 2010 at 10:00 am for the MSTA Fall Board meeting at Halls Serv-All located in Posen, MI. All members and prospective members are welcome. The Michigan Septic Tank Association is proud to have Halls Serv-All as one of our members.

Two FREE educational sessions are being planned after the business meeting (from 12:30pm to 3:30pm). We are currently seeking accreditation through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Environmental (MDNRE) for 3-CSE-hours (Continuing Septage Education). Certificates will be passed out after the sessions are completed. The following courses are being planned:

MSTA Member (and compliance partner), Skip Ritchey (CEO of Safety Management Systems) will speak (2-hours) on “DOT Safety Compliance, Hands on Knowledge Training.” He will take all attendees through some practicable training on knowledge for your septage/excavating company to avoid tickets out on the roadways and in your paperwork at your company. He will explain how to keep up with paperwork so you stay in compliance and he will be going over a hands-on daily inspection of a pumper truck and pointing out the little things that an officer would ticket you out on the road for in a safety inspection. Skip will cover some issues on truck plates that can save your company hundreds of dollars. Safety Management Systems extends a warm welcome for every member to attend this meeting and get some real time knowledge on safety compliance.

MSTA President, Joe Hall, will speak (1-hour) on “Operating a Successful MDNRE Licensed Septage Land Application Site.” Joe will share how his firms’ MDNRE approved Septage Waste Storage Facility has helped in the improved management of their site and provide a brief tour of their facilities.
