MSTA Spring Board Meeting Even though lightly attended, the Spring Board Meeting of the MSTA was a quality meeting. The meeting was held May 2, 2009 at the Tollgate Center (which has an excellent research & development area for on-site technologies) in Novi, Michigan. After the business meeting, an excellent meal was provided and prepared by MSTA member’s Jim Kovalak Excavating, Inc. family (Carol Kovalak, and her daughter-in-law Sarah). Following lunch a three-hour MDEQ accredited continuing septage education program was presented by Dr. Ted Loudon (MSU Professor Emeritus) and Ron Lindsey (Milan Engineered Systems). Dr. Loudon and Mr. Lindsey presented interesting information regarding on-site systems in the classroom and then took the group outside to learn from several educational displays. Several tools for checking the sludge and scum level in septic tanks were demonstrated, as well as maintenance on a pressure distribution system. It was suggested that we go back to an April date for future spring meetings for better attendance. Hopefully everyone is busy!
